The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Inc. (JAMA) will hold an exhibition to highlight initiatives by the Japanese automobile industry to achieve carbon neutrality from May 18 (Thursday) through May 21 (Sunday), 2023 at Hiroshima Gate Park, as a side event on the occasion of the G7 Hiroshima Summit.

The Japanese automobile industry is committed to the achievement of carbon neutrality in road transport by 2050. Stressing the need for multiple, technology-open pathways to achieve that goal, Japan’s automakers believe consumers must be provided with a variety of options, starting with what is realizable now on the basis of industrywide collective effort.

Presenting a lineup from JAMA member companies of passenger cars, trucks, and motorcycles equipped with advanced technologies, this exhibition will demonstrate the multiple approaches the automakers are pursuing on the road to carbon neutrality.

We cordially invite media representatives and the general public, from within Japan and from abroad, to visit the exhibition so that they may gain a better understanding of the diversity of appealing options that are available in achieving carbon neutrality in road transport.

A display of 35 Japanese-brand vehicles demonstrating a full range of diverse mobility options

• BEVs (full-range lineup), including passenger cars, commercial vehicles, mini-vehicles, and motorcycles
• BEV battery utilization in a community/infrastructural context, including energy supply management and resource circulation
• Decarbonization of logistics through electrification of commercial vehicles, including FCEV/BEV trucks and vans
• Activities dedicated to the production, transport, and use of energy, including hydrogen and bio/synthetic fuels
• Decarbonized vehicle use that maintains the driving pleasure experience for car fans
• Japan-originated mini-vehicles, supporting everyday activities and last-mile mobility
