Despite signs of a turnaround in the auto industry (e.g., domestic auto sales in the first half of the year exceeded previous year's figure for the first time in three years), it has yet to make a tangible recovery.
As many important issues at home and abroad require attention, we hope that Mori Cabinet, under the powerful leadership of the Prime Minister who has extensive experience, will put the economy on track towards solid growth, and push ahead with structural reforms. We expect the Cabinet to work as one to revitalize Japan.
