The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA) welcomes the reshuffled cabinet recently introduced by Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi. JAMA is confident that this lineup will play a key role in further advancing the structural reforms that have been actively promoted by the Koizumi government during its administration.
Although currently buoyed by an export-driven recovery, the Japanese economy is plagued by the rising price of crude oil and other negatives which are combining to dull the momentum of the budding upturn.
Under the firm hand of Prime Minister Koizumi, JAMA looks forward to a concerted push towards full-fledged economic revitalization focusing on domestic demand, the further promotion of structural reform, renewed drives towards the signing of free trade agreements, and other positive measures allowing Japan to move forward in the right direction.
