Prime Minister Shinzo Abe recently outlined the third part-or “third arrow,” as he refers to it-of his administration’s economic stimulus plan for Japan, following earlier announcements of the two other elements covering bold monetary and flexible fiscal measures. JAMA welcomes the adoption of this strategic third element, which focuses on the mobilization of private sector vitality in the quest to attain sustained growth. We particularly appreciate the inclusion of initiatives targeting the resurgence of the manufacturing sector, a core strength for Japan, and the incorporation of measures promoting the invigoration of the automobile industry.
JAMA hopes that the government will act with speed and resolve in implementing policies specifically aimed at achieving, through the stimulation of domestic demand and the strengthening of industrial competitiveness, the targets set forth in this growth strategy.
For its part, the Japanese automobile industry intends to make all possible efforts to help reinforce the foundations of Japanese manufacturing and continue leading the world with innovation originating in Japan.
