5th Global Commercial Vehicle Industry Meeting Convened in Japan

Bringing together from Europe, the United States and Japan the top executives of the world’s leading manufacturers of heavy-duty vehicles and engines, the 5th Global Commercial Vehicle Industry Meeting was held on October 25 in Makuhari, Chiba Prefecture on the occasion of the 40th Tokyo Motor Show. Meeting participants issued a joint statement following the proceedings, the text of which appears here below.

<Joint Statement>
European, Japanese and U.S. manufacturers of heavy-duty vehicles and engines today stressed the importance of addressing the climate change issue from a global perspective and agreed to extend all-out support for the UN/ECE/WP29’s activities aimed at improving fuel quality worldwide.
