At a press conference in Geneva on 5 March 2008, the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA), representing the worldwide automobile industry, addressed CO2 reduction and the need for an integrated approach to reducing road-transport CO2 emissions. OICA also spoke out on that occasion on the issue of fuel quality.
Representatives of OICA member associations from Europe, the United States and Japan, including CCFA (France), ANFIA (Italy), the Alliance (U.S.A.) and JAMA, participated in that event.
