August 1, 2017
Under the auspices of the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Inc., the organizer of the 45th Tokyo Motor Show 2017 to be held from October 27 through November 5 this year, online sales of some types of admission tickets for the show are being launched today, August 1.
The following three types of tickets can now be purchased from designated online vendors (see the “Designated Online Vendors” list below)—including the Tokyo Motor Show’s official vendor, etix—accessible on the official Tokyo Motor Show Web site at http://www.tokyo-motorshow.com/en/:
1) Preview Day admission tickets (limited to 20,000) for entry to the show on Preview Day (Friday, October 27, from 12:30), before the show opens to the general public on October 28;
2) Preview Day admission tickets including a “Tour of the Tokyo Motor Show Guided by an Automotive Journalist,” a popular Tokyo Motor Show event; and
3) Advance-purchase admission tickets for entry to the show when it is open to the general public, from October 28 (Saturday) through November 5 (Sunday).
Beginning on September 21 (Thursday), all tickets for admission to the Tokyo Motor Show when it is open to the general public (Oct 28-Nov 5) will also be on sale at brick-and-mortar venues (including convenience stores, travel agencies, and train stations) and available online from other vendors as well (see the “Additional Vendors” list below).
While the show is open to the general public, visitors who present a disability certificate will be admitted free of charge along with one escort (up to two escorts if the disabled person uses a wheelchair).
This year’s Tokyo Motor Show will feature a brand-new special exhibit, the organizer-themed “TOKYO CONNECTED LAB 2017,” where visitors will learn how connected technologies will enhance daily life from multiple perspectives, generating new ideas and potentials. This special exhibit will offer three interactive events: One “hands-on” event in which visitors will see and experience, inside a large dome featuring 360-degree visual projections, mobility as it could exist in the Tokyo of the future; another in which a total of 30 visitors at a time will be able to explore, in virtual reality, a futuristic megacity driving their own connected cars; and a series of talk sessions during which experts and other leading personalities from various industries and fields of activity will discuss the future of mobility.
With its “BEYOND THE MOTOR” theme, the 45th Tokyo Motor Show 2017 will offer its visitors an exciting experience by transcending the framework of traditional motor shows. We look forward to seeing you there.
