September 5, 2018
The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Inc. (Chairman: Akio Toyoda) will hold the Tokyo Motor Festival 2018 from October 6 (Saturday) through October 8 (Monday, a public holiday), 2018, at Tokyo Waterfront City’s Special Event Venue, Symbol Promenade Park, and MEGA WEB sites in Odaiba.
Marking the last year of the Heisei era, Tokyo Motor Festival 2018 will be a lively event that makes it possible for visitors of all ages to take a look at “back then and now” and appreciate the charm of this historic era’s iconic cars and motorcycles.
Passenger cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles (including both old and current models) will all be on display, and participants in the festival will be able to enjoy vehicle demonstration runs and test rides. This year’s roster of events will include programs for children and the display of “itasha” vehicles whose exteriors feature anime characters, as well as, for the first time, e-sports events.* Stay tuned for more information, coming soon, about other programs that will be available for your additional enjoyment. The organizers hope that Tokyo Motor Festival 2018 will win new car and motorcycle fans and spark growing excitement for the 46th Tokyo Motor Show 2019, to be held in autumn next year.

Munegyun in Japanese (an emphatic form of “munekyun”) means “pounding of the heart, tightening of the chest.” People might feel that sensation when, for example, they discover something new or rediscover something from their past. It’s a feeling that can’t quite be described in words, but is strongly emotional.
Tokyo Motor Festival 2018 has been organized to offer plenty of excitement, featuring vehicle models from both the past and the present that will rekindle delight when rediscovered or cause awe and wonder when encountered for the first time: a distinct feeling of munegyun, which we hope all visitors to the festival will experience, with joy!
We look forward to your participation in this event.
