JAPAN MOBILITY SHOW 2025
Applications Now Available for Participation in the Startup Future Factory Program

The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Inc. (Chairman: Masanori KATAYAMA) is pleased to announce the launch of applications for participation in the Startup Future Factory program at Japan Mobility Show 2025 which is to be held from October 30 through November 9, 2025, at Tokyo Big Sight in the Ariake district of Koto-ku, Tokyo.

With “A unique opportunity to explore mobility’s future” as its theme, Japan Mobility Show 2025 will offer visitors—including dedicated car and motorcycle fans and family attendees as well—exciting visions and experiences of the diverse types of mobility that will be a feature of the mobility of the future in Japan.
Applications for participation in this program focusing on innovative ideas for the future of mobility from startup businesses with anticipated strong growth potential are available starting from today (see below for details).
The Startup Future Factory Program: Background/Content/Features
Since 2023, with the launch of the Japan Mobility Show, the Startup Future Factory program has served as a platform where startups pioneering the future of mobility can meet with established companies and startup peers engaged in a wide spectrum of activities for the purpose of co-creating innovative businesses and building new relationships to further propel the industry. To date, more than 260 companies have participated in the program and 1,200 business collaborations have been generated through this matching platform. Japan Mobility Show 2025 will be the venue for this program’s newest edition which will feature startup exhibitor booths, a pitch contest with awards, and the “Meet-up Box” online communication tool.
■ Startup Exhibitor Booths
This part of the program will be held in three separate time periods with 50 companies exhibiting in each period, for a total of 150 participating companies. Applications are available for exhibitor booths featuring any of the following four themes.
- Making mobility more enjoyable and more accessible
Objectives: To contribute to the creation of a society with a mobility environment that is comfortable, enjoyable, and efficient and expands the possibilities for personal mobility. - Advancing environmental and economic sustainability
Objectives: To move recycling technology and the circular economy forward and thereby help build an environmentally friendly and sustainable industrial base. - Improving systems that support daily life- and work-related activities
Objectives: To find sustainable solutions to problems in transportation, logistics, and information communication using artificial intelligence and data analytics. - Finding new pathways for advancing mobility to frontiers “beyond imagination”
Objectives: To create added value through innovation that can transform mobility into a rich experience with multiple benefits for users.
■ Pitch Contest & Awards
The pitch contest with awards will be held in two business growth-stage categories, “Seed/Early” and “Middle/Later.” The Seed/Early category offers prize money of 12 million yen in total for startups in need of funding during the early phase of their business-building. The Middle/Later category offers a wide range of benefits to help meet business needs at various stages, such as presentation opportunities that could lead to business growth.
■ Online Communication via Meet-up Box
Launched in preparation for Japan Mobility Show Bizweek 2024, the Meet-up Box communication service helps companies engage in business partnership activity with greater efficiency and effectiveness by allowing them to share their business seeds or needs with each other prior to officially matching up. In addition to being a handy tool for booking business meetings at the Japan Mobility Show venue, the service this year will offer new features to further assist businesses wishing to join forces as well as provide illustrative examples of successful business match-ups made to date. With roughly 2,000 partnership-seeking solicitors registered so far, the platform is expected to expand further thanks to its ability to connect soliciting parties with potential partners.
Applications for participation in the Startup Future Factory program can be made via the official Japan Mobility Show website from April 10 and a guide for program participants (in Japanese and in English) can be accessed on the website, also from April 10. A briefing session for program participants will be held online on April 23 (in Japanese only) to provide detailed information on the Startup Exhibitor Booths and Pitch Contest & Awards parts of the program.
